If cellophane/saran wrap is used:

Remove bandage after two hours unless otherwise instructed.

Wash tattoo in room temperature water with ant-bacterial hand soap. Lightly rub in small circles until residue is gone.

Pat dry tattoo with a CLEAN paper towel.

Add a light coat of Lubriderm unscented lotion or similar. Repeat the wash dry and moisturized process twice daily for the first three days unless otherwise instructed.

After two to four days your tattoo should begin to peel. At this point you can't switch to washing your tattoo once a day and moisturizing as you feel needed.

  • If scabs appear, DO NOT PICK. Let them fall off naturally.

  • If your tattoo is swollen, feel free to take ibuprofen to reduce swelling and soreness.

  • If any signs/fears of infection appear please message your artist directly, or call/ email the shop.

If Saniderm is used:

Sanderm is a medical grade bandage. It was originally developed for burn wounds; however, it works wonderfully for tattoos!

Please keep the bandage on for five days if possible. During the first two days, your bandage wil fill up with lots of murky fluid. This is a mixture of ink left on the surface, and plasma leaking from the tattoo. This is NORMAL AND EXPECTED. And should cause no signs of concern.

During the third, fourth, and fith day your bandage will dry up and get crusty underneath. After five days you may remove the bandage.

The easiest way to remove the bandage is to take a warm shower, work a corner of the bandage off, let the water run into the bandage and slowly peel/stretch it off.

at this point your tattoo will begin to peel for the next few days. Your tattoo may look to be losing color/saturation, however the color will soon return once the tattoo is fully healed.

Things to look out for:

  • Your bandage may start to open up/leak out fluid.

  • About 1% of people are allergic to this bandage and will get some (minor) blisters on or around the tattoo. If this occurs, please remove the bandage

wash with hand soap and water with light circles until residue is gone.

Do not scratch or pick at blisters, they will dissipate as the tattoo heals.

* If a blister forms on the edge of your Saniderm, immediately remove, wash with cold water, and non-scented antibacteral soap. (Blisters form on sensitive/ delicate areas. These form due to tugging and pulling on the skin from Saniderm.) (if any of these occur, contact your artist directly with info and photos.)
